Life with The Pinks

Daisy Daisy's Baptism

Today the little girl known as Baby Pink was baptised. She wore an ivory silk dress, and a silver bracelet, which she found very useful for taking off and throwing or chewing. She had two little silk booties, embroidered with her name and the church. These were fun to pull of and leave on the floor when Mummy and Daddy weren't looking.

The Baptism was during the family service at our church, and the church was full of friends, family and church family. Everywhere that Baby Pink looked there were smiley faces. The smiley faces sang songs and listened to the stories that were told.

Baby Pink's God-daddy did a talk. Auntie Gilly (who is a curate) put oil on Baby Pink's head, and then washed it all off with lots of water. Master Pink was a brilliant big brother, and helped Auntie Gilly, and lit a special candle for her. He also lit the candle that he was given at his baptism.

After all the singing and stories there was a party with all the smiley faced people. Baby Pink went to sleep for a bit with her fingers in her ears.

There were two big cakes at the party, that Grandma Pink had made and they had little Daisies all over them. They were very pretty.

Lots of people bought along presents for Baby Pink and when they got home from the party, baby Pink, Mummy, Daddy and Grandma opened the presents. There were lovely things that sparkled and shimmered, and things mummy said baby Pink could wear when she was older. There were also books and toys, and picture frames.

The little girl known as Baby Pink, had a wonderful day, and went to bed a tired little Pink.
