Depth-of-field or Vibration?

Yesterday was party day. The party hosts had their house full of sleepers, so 3 of us decided to sleep on the boat. Bit small, but i think the best place there was ;)
But barbeque, beer, rum, vodka and too little sleep are a good recipe for lack of inspiration the next day. So I had to revert to a "backup plan" i had for a day like this:

I shot some pictures of one of my guitars* and playing with the depth-of-field i found the above effect: The strings are, i assure you, not moving: the 'evident' vibration is from the DOF effect, and the light refracting on the strings. But at first glance it does seem the strings are moving** as if just played.
That's why in the end i picked this shot. There was no editing except for a little crop from the top.

* It's a Yamaha fg-411ce-12 12 string semi-acoustic.

**Ofcourse strings wouldn't vibrate this way because the wavevorm is all wrong. The strings are rigid at the beginning and the end. Even more, if you'd introduce a 'node' at this position (with a flageolet) you would have to see more nodes. But you probably knew this allready if you cared enough about guitar ramblings to read all the way down to here.
