Was It Really So Long Ago

Recycled Renewables

Today has been a full one. That's my excuse for the poor photo quality. So what's with the green union flag? You may have seen a similar one on the sides of vans in he UK. Bpth green flags belong to power generating companies, however the similarities between them end there.

The original green flag belongs to my supplier of choice - Ecotricity. A company which has been building wind turbines and selling electricity across the country since 1996. They supply people like Lush, the Co-operative Bank and are proud to be recommended by the Soil Association and Oxfam.

The other thing that not many people realise is that we can now all choose who supplies our electricity, and therefore how it's made, so wherever you live in the country you can actually choose to have your home or business supplied by clean energy. The funny thing is switching takes about five minutes but it's the biggest single step you can take to reduce your emissions and protect the environment.

The other flag was borrowed by a French behemoth, masquerading as a green company, which is actually quite the opposite. I call it Green-washing and I'm not impressed. I've recylced this leaflet so that you can make a difference - I hope you like it.
