Saucy Poppy

Usually the anthers fall before the petals, but this red poppy threw off its petals first.

I was a bit hasty on my farewell of the fantail. Today I came in from the garden to find him busy touring the house, removing moths from the ceiling, and briefly attacking his rivals in each of the mirrors. Finally he perched on the kitchen washing line and scolded me very loudly for a couple of minutes, and then he flew away.

Saturday Quote

Another from Joe Bennett-

Metaphors come in three different varieties: fresh, dead, and mixed.

Fresh metaphors brighten the world. Dead metaphors don't because they are dead. Mixed metaphors are dead metaphors stewed.
