Welcome to the Sunshine State!

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for the 5th of May) is a holiday that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States. While Cinco de Mayo has limited significance nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Regrettably, anyone planning a cook out today, is likely to get very wet; I took this shot while taking Nia to school this morning, and it seems unlikely that I will get anything better today, unless I camp out in the rain, and try to capture the lightening which will surely happen later on. Not going to happen!
