Cimetière du Père-Lachaise

There are so many stories in this cemetery. The angel with wings outstretched over an empty grave in memory of a young jewish girl deported during the war. The date of her death unknown. The lion tamer astride the lion who ate him and the two balloonists lying side by side just as they died thousands of feet in the air. It is a quiet place filled with monuments to the dead, some grand, others simple. It felt very peaceful and didn't provoke the same sadness I felt when wandering through the flea markets.
