Polling Station

We voted this evening at Cumbernauld and St Andrews Primary. Orla came with us. It's a very safe Labour seat, but the popular vote will be important in this election.

The big story after the polls closed is that at several constituencies people have not been allowed to vote when they were still queuing at 10pm. The problem is that in some places they were allowed to vote and in others the doors were closed. There could therefore be legal action. It certainly doesn't improve trust in politics.

11pm
Houghton & Sunderland South
Swing to the Tories of 8% which would imply a Tory majority.

11:30pm
Washington & Sunderland West
Swing to the Tories of 11.6% which implies a stronger majority for the Conservatives.

11:45
Sunderland Central
Swing to Tories of 4.8% so reducing the average swing so far.
