Was It Really So Long Ago

Akbar the Great

Akbar, widely considered the greatest of the Mughal emperors, was thirteen years old when he ascended the throne in Delhi, following the death of his father Humayun. There's plenty more to this story, but my tale is one of great food and great company in a sleepy Essex town.

This evening was our night out together (an event not often repeated) with friends. We ventured to Halstead where the Akbar Indian restaurant can be found serving great food where once letters were sorted. The building dates to 1895 and started life as a Post Office as betold by the inset stonework. A great evening, a great building and now a great Indian. I hope you like it.
