Gillipaw's Journal

Woodland Garden, Pollok Park, Glasgow

We enjoyed a long walk in Pollok Park this afternoon. The place is a riot of colour at the moment, with many of the rhododendron bushes in full bloom, others heavy with buds. Sir John Maxwell was an expert in breeding these plants, and named many of the Pollok cultivars after his friends. There are so many different types and colours.

I particularly like this area of the park, the boys have enjoyed climbing the old beech tree over the years, and there are so many interesting pathways. The old carved stone urn provides a nice focal point and a meet up place when we playing hide and seek there.

DM will be pleased to read that I have been trying out the spot metering feature on my camera. Hopefully, I will post some efforts in the next few days.
