Celebration of Life

Today I have good reason to celebrate!

My sister received her scan results today and they were far, far better than any of us dared hope for. We were expecting her tumour to have maybe shrunk a little or even stayed the same (but as long as the words "got bigger" didn't crop up we were happy).

What we didn't expect was to be told that hers was an "exceptional scan result" and that the tumour had all but disappeared and that she was officially IN REMISSION!!!!!! Tonight, I shall be cracking open a bottle or two and raising a glass to her to celebrate not only the final result but also her incredible courage and sheer determination throughout the treatment. Whilst she may never be completely free of this dreaded disease, she can look forward to the birth of her first grandchild in December with joy!

We run Race for Life in July for all those whose lives have been affected by cancer and this year we are so so pleased (and exceptionally proud) to be able to add another name to the list of those who have beaten the big C.

For me today's blip is the best I have submitted so far - it may not be the greatest photographically - but for what it stands for I am truly grateful.
