Early Morning Rose

Today we woke to a blue sky and a crisp breeze.  It was lovely to see the sun after a week of rain and grey cloud.

The early morning rose is not a name but the time I took the photo about 8am.  The sun was starting to shine but not on this part of the garden.  A busy day ahead meant an early photo.

A little caterpiller has been living in this rose and has quite happily nibbled the petals which really does make it a 'natural' rose.  Although it looks nice there is very little scent, I think its because its so late in the season, one more week before its officially Winter.  The droplets are from last nights dew and yes we had a frost this morning.
There are a few more rosebuds coming on but will remain to be seen how they progress.

I did crop this as the outer petals were quite damaged from the rain - I may've been a little severe.....

Enjoy the weekend :)
