Life of a toaster

Family

Not far from where yesterday's archaeologists are digging, there's some family history of my own. One of my great-grandfathers ran a tobacconists/sweet shop in Turriff Street, which eventually ended up a Chinese takeaway (closed now I'm sure). The block looks like it's due for demolition - not surprising as the M74 is set to bulldose through nearby. So, I thought I should get round to documenting this little bit of family history soon.

The pic on the left of my great-granny is from around 1940. It's a reasonable assumption that the babe in arms is my uncle.
