Flooding and Rain

Went to visit mum this morning and this is what I found!!
I couldn't get near her drive so stood and took photo's.

The postie was coming along on her pushbike with sadle bags, she struggled her way through the water, she was on the edge by the fences and the water was half way up her wheel, her lower foot was completed submerged.  She was keen to deliver the mail regardless!! Good on her!!

Its still raining consistantly hard and Daughter E's school has closed.  I believe rivers are high. These conditions are set to last till late Friday with it turning cold later today.  The lower region of the South Island is predicted to get snow.
