Last remnants of Niddrie

We headed out to East Lothian today for a barbeque at Tyninghame beach. To avoid traffic on Milton road due to the road works we cut through the park and up past Craigmiller and Niddrie. We'd not been up that way in ages so we were pretty surprised to see that this was pretty much all that remained of Niddrie. There was one more block of flats to the left of this shot which was all boarded up but that was it, the rest was flattened.

I did wonder why they had left the Rex until last. It is pretty famous though. It's not the first time it has featured on Blip either. E-saint featured it way back in October.

As for the Barbi, it was great when we finally got there. We took the wrong path at the Tyninghame carpark and ended up at the Tyne mouth rather than the beach then had to walk for ages to meet our friends. It was folk we hadn't seen ina while though so it was good to see them. Family Smith and Sporadic were there too and it was good to see them as well.
