River and Mountains

The morning was crisp with a good frost but nobody minded because the day was a stunner! I felt an adventure coming on.....

Rang Mum, who was doing house jobs, and suggested a picinic and a road trip.
She was only to happy to leave the house jobs and arrived within the hour, lunch packed, sneakers on, windparka and sunnies - good on you Mum! I had my lunch packed and had the rugs and cushions.  We dropped Daughter E, at a friends house to do a Photography assisgnment along the way, and then headed inland.

We went to the Ashley Gorge and discovered the river was a lot higher because of all the recent rain, not a good place for a picnic way too cold amoungst all the trees.  We continued inland a little bit more enjoying the beautiful scenic views of the snow capped mountains caught by the sun and found a nice area by the Eyre River. We had our very casual lunch of sandwiches, fruit, raw nuts and a good cup of tea and then strolled down to the river. It was good to be able to see the mountains from the river.

This was one of the best photos of the day, Mum chose this one - I think she chose well!
