Day 4 - California - San Francisco (Day 2)

We decided today that we'd try and walk across the Golden Gate Bridge as it is such an iconic structure. Our plan was to walk and catch a bus that goes over the bridge - these buses, although existing were hard to find. Nevermind, we started walking towards the bridge thinking that it'd take a wee while to get there. Not thinking that being on a coast that it'd be a wee bit windy even with the sun out. Not to mention the fog that was covering the bridge as we started on our journey!
3 hours later and we felt no closer we stopped at the marina for food and started to walk again. It wasn't till the path changed from tarmac to a dirt track that out hearts sank a bit and we decided enough was enough and started looking for some transport back. Bus or taxi would have been nice, but with us being so far out of town both were hard to find. We did however find ourselves a nice drive in to stop and grab something to eat. Classic Drive in with all the accoutrements you'd expect.
It was only at this point sitting under a different light that S noticed we'd got a bit of sun. Not just a little, but a lot. I had the classic scottish sun tan!

After out feeding we managed to grab a cab back into town where we did a bit of shopping and I found the closest Walgreens to get the biggest tube of aftersun you've ever seen.
