Pronghorn in Stride

We saw this adult male pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) north of Drumheller during the first day of our week's birding tour in Western Canada. We were on a day-long drive north from Calgary to Bonnyville in Alberta.

The pronghorn is not a true antilope, but is often called one; it is the fastest mammal in North America, racing faster than 70 km/hour (over 40 mph).

More on our leader and group in the next day or so.
