Well...She Started It!!

The day was gorgeous at the beach today so after my bus run I went back to get some shots of it. I took many many shots and although this was not my favourite, I did have a question about it I was hoping someone could help me with.

What is that dark ring or almost ring up at the top centre there? Do you see it? It shows up in all of the light sky shots.
