Wacky Warning Label

One of the gifts Nienke got for her sixth birthday is a mug that she could paint herself. Painting she did yesterday; after that the pottery needed to dry for 24 hours before baking it in the oven. Luckily Martine read the "DON'T" section or otherwise we would have been in serious trouble! Who would have guessed it would be hot after baking for 25 minutes at 150ºC / 300ºF ?

When we were in the USA in 2002, we discussed wacky warning labels* with our friends. They insisted the US legal system was not so bad that these labels would actually be needed. After ending the discussion we proceeded to inflate a brand new rubber boat. I spotted the safety instructions for the boat and read them. I then handed the piece of paper to our friends and told them: "I rest my case."

What did the warning label tell us? "Do not eat." Seriously...
