Baltimore Checkerspot Larva

The larva of the Baltimore Checkerspot Butterfly is interesting in that the larva all over winter together. It takes a year to go from a larva to a butterfly. These larva will form a chrysalis shortly and will emerge around July 4th and restart the cycle again
