Blue Flag Iris

On the bird walk today in the woods and around marshy area the blue Flag iris was blooming. It is a native New england species.

From Wilkepedia "Iris versicolor, also commonly known as the Harlequin Blueflag, Larger Blue Flag, Northern Blue Flag[1], and other variations of those names, is a species of Iris native to North America where it is common in sedge meadows, marshes, and along streambanks and shores."
