showered with berries

this afternoon, as i prepared to head home, there was one last thing to do before leaving ann arbor. one more adventure with my dear friend ariela. a picnic of toast and the mulberry jam we had made friday evening followed by the picking of even more mulberries! who could resist that early summer bounty that can be found all over town?

best of all, the most effective way to collect these delights is by laying out your picnic blanket under the tree, and getting busy shaking those branches! if you stand just in the right places, you will find not only the blanket, but also yourself showered in mulberries. needless to say, we were picking berries out of our hair the whole walk home.

it is officially berry season. yum!
