UFO

Daddy Day this week, seeing as it was so sunny, meant a trip to Ayr to play on the beach (with grandparents in tow). Great fun was had by all - particularly me as I found a rather good Whisky Shop and accidentally purchased a bottle of Dalmore Gran Reserva.

Whilst on the beach, this rather stubby-looking Boeing 747 took off and then proceeded to circle the airport several times. What it was up to we had no idea: my Dad theorised it might have been to do with runway calibration but I can't see how a 747 would be necessary for that.

The only marking was on the tail: a circle within which was a crest comprising crossed scimitars at the bottom, with two objects above - possibly a dove on the left and a palm tree on the right. My theory is that it was some sheikh's private jet. The registration was tricky to make out: it was V?-E?T, with the first unknown either another V or a Y, and the second one either an A or an X. Any ideas, anyone?
