Winter Sunrise

Sunrise

The grey begins to fade,
As colour creeps from leaf to limb.
The light is slowly seeping up,
From beneath the earth's curved rim.

The sky blue strengthens slowly,
Glazed with hues of orange and red.
Slowly as the earth revolves,
The sun lifts up it's head.

Colours shimmer in the light,
And shapes begin to unveil.
The trees and flowers separate,
With the dawn light rosy and pale.

The sun climbs higher in the sky,
It's light shimmering and warm.
All things now are clearly seen,
A new day has been born.

It was a cold frosty morning but we did have a nice sunrise.  Since then its turned cloudy, grey and bitter.  I had a home day today, just me and the house jobs, I didn't mind.  Daughter A took the car to see a friend in the city, Hubby worked and Daughter E was supposed to have a chamber concert.  She is in a trio of Piano, Flute and Viola but the pianist didn't make it to school, she was disappointed and now they will have to perform at a later date, she is being marked for NCEA Level 2 school exams.

The weekend is now here, we have the normal Saturday things on tomorrow and Sunday I hope will be family day with hubby not working and Daughter A still with us.

Have a great weekend :)
