Weeds and produce

Another trip up to the allotment today to get the place back under control after a week of neglect.
Of course, the weeds had gone mad, but sometimes it's so difficult to pull them out when they are such lovely wildflowers.

Top row: Common poppy (Papaver rhoeas) and Heartsease (Viola tricolor)

Bottom row: Scarlet pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis) and our garlic and shallots (various alliums)

The scarlet pimpernel opens and closes in direct sunlight only, dam'ed elusive!
M loves Heartsease so much that it is rampant over the vegetable beds (I admit to loving it, too....even amongst my pea-plants!)
