Football, food and a Sunday

It has been a rather relaxing weekend since yesterday's eccentricities. Quite luxurious too, interspcaed with some delicious food. But the extreme heat dulls the appetite. So does being sedentary. No cycling this time. Had to sacrifice it in favour of football. Also had an elaborate haircut today, parts of which felt somewhat unpleasant. Tomorrow the battles shall resume.

Despite supporting the US, they lost last night, perhaps to a better team. But it was a fine match. Which, though I am about to forget after the England Vs Germany game which ended just a while back. What a gripping and aggressive game of football! I so wanted England to win, but it was just not to be. And I do think, Lampard's disallowed goal changed the game, Just when England were looking so promising. It changed their whole approach, enabling a brilliant Germany to net a couple more. I do think England failed to get the right people to play in the right places, and some of the big names definitely under-performed. Two of the teams, I was looking forward to seeing more of, have been relegated. If by chance Argentina lose tonight, it will be a grave tragedy. Sleep won't be a big priority until the tournament gets over.
