A Line through Chaos...

When I cross the Western Approach/Lothian Road junction, I usually kind of traverse the pre-defined pedestrian routes. I saw a perfect line that took me harmlessly across the junction with no impeding automotive traffic or otherwise. When I thought about how it might of looked from anyone at the the pedestrian crossings, it might have, from their point of view looked like I was walking through a maelstrom of fast moving metal.

I'm sure there's some sort of mathematical chaotic thoery in there somewhere that someone has probably already come up with.
