Bothwell Castle

I took The Bros through to Bothwell today to visit Grandma & Grandpa.

I was brought up in Bothwell and spent lots of time playing in the woods along the Clyde between Bothwell & Uddingston and in and around the castle ruins. It was high time I took the boys there it being practically on Grandma's doorstep so we visited today. Uncle Dave lived up to his 'Uncle Dave is soooo cool' reputation by playing football with the boys and encouraging them to scale the sandstone walls. They are busy climbing the lower part of the tower wall in this shot.

Later on The Bros picked some fruit & veg Grandma & Grandpa had grown and munched through all the strawberries with copious amounts of cream and ice cream. Yum!!

Going to St Andrews Castle & Cathedral tomorrow, loving our Historic Scotland membership!
