A view from Jeanneb

Up on the roof.

I made a revisit today to Tyntesfield, a National Trust property near Bristol, to show my husband the place where there is a Combe bearing his family name, which is a little unusual, but we believe it to originate from SW England.

As often seems to happens to us the property was not only shrouded in scaffolding but appeared to be covered by an enormous poly tunnel!

We were however allowed to ascend a tower built in the scaffolding to view work in progress on the roof.

We saw the old chimney stacks and the new tiles on the roof but what neither of us saw was the pattern being created by the tiles until we viewed it on the cameras LCD screen. Bizarre - as were the car park attendants dressed as World War 2 American soldiers! Something to do with it having been used as an American base at that time.

Great day out anyway.
