Peeking out of the shell

I saw this Common Spotted Orchid (Dactylorhiza fuchsii) growing on the chalk escarpment of the Chiltern Hills, on a warm walk with Red Kites wheeling in the skies overhead. What was missing though, were Swallows, Swifts and Martins, which are still few in number around here.
