a town called E.

Found!

This afternoon one of my colleagues was on the phone when she spotted a dog in the middle of the road. She hung up, and together with another co-worker ran outside to catch it. We gave it water, and tried to not get too close as the poor thing was filthy beyond belief. And VERY friendly, so we all ended up smelling like wet dirty dog anyway.
I called the Beloved. Could he please come pick up the dog and see if we could get a search-system going? And maybe a bath?

Because she is so friendly, pretty well behaved and has a collar we know she's not a stray and can't have been on the street for very long. The Beloved decided on housing her (or more accurately: garaging her) until we've found her owner. We fed her, and she was very excited about that. Then there were more attempts at cleaning her, and she was less excited about that.

After dinner we printed flyers and hung 'm up over town. We talked to strangers and acquaintances to see if anyone recognises this dog, or knows of someone missing one. So far we've struck out, but there's always tomorrow.

If anyone from around Van Buren County in Michigan is reading this, by any chance, and is missing this dog: my email is in my profile.

And no, we are NOT keeping her. There's just no way. If we can't find her owner we'll call local rescue organisations with a no-kill policy.
