assay before diagnosis

Despite the brightly-colouredness of the dangly toy thing attached by a woefully inadequately small square of Velcro to the rims of the hoods of his various conveyance-modules he rarely seems to notice it that I've noticed except for a quick three-minute suspicious stare at it on the way to the hospital this morning. Had he been looking out of the windows more his suspicious look might have been heightened if he were able to recognise the time of day, route being taken and even the day of the week as those which would have indicated that he would shortly be pinned down in order to get a cannula shoved into the back of his hand for the removal of more blood for sampling. His Hb is fine and his neutrophil count up from two weeks ago but they still want him brought back in another two weeks to pin him down again and take another sample. Compared to the account of his screeching last month he was relatively calm for this one except for the energetic knees which were getting a bit too close to the little sample bottle the blood was trickling into.
