Digging 11: Contortions

This is Long Ed, with his head down a hole. Sometimes excavation can involve the most gymnastic contortions (not here, mind you, I think he was just lazy and fancied a lie down!). This is especially true when you are cleaning up a feature in order to photograph it. The smallest crumb of loose soil shows up like a boulder in a photo, and any foot- or knee-prints ruin the image.
Hence the strange contortions necessary sometimes, and the occasional use of a bent teaspoon to get out the last crumbs of soil.

Well, another week over! Managed to lift SK3 at the end of the day, then off down the road for a much-needed pint, especially delicious in the company of M!
