Bed Time

Yes, bedtime is the best time for these young ducklings to take to the wing and do several laps of the village, we, like the fools that we are, stand there shouting...

]"come on ducks...wack wack wack"[/[/b]i]

The story of how they came to be with us is here on 14 April,
I must learn how to link

By the time they were 5 weeks old they were ready to be set free -they had gone from spare bedroom to greenhouse to a small run in the front garden. All the while I made sure not to handle them or get too close to them, didn't want them thinking I was their Mim aswell! After all, they are wild ducks.
We took advice from the very wonderful Jean Thorpe, she runs an animal sanctuary nr Malton N Yorks and is most knowledgeable on most things fur and feathered, we let them go down by our pond in the middle of the village.
They took it upon them selves to move into the chicken hut and have remained there ever since, they do take the occassonal stole down to the beck in the village and call in on one or two local gardens.

It appears they are all female.
Duck eggs anyone?
