Troldhaugen

Took to the Bergen Light Railway today for the first time as it has just opened this summer. This explains all the construction work over the past few years and I even managed to work out how to pay without English instructions.

We headed off to Troldhaugen the home of composer Edvard Grieg from 1885 to 1907. A very peaceful place and easy to see how someone could get inspiration from the area. Even learned that his great-grandfather was Scottish and came over to Bergen and changed his name from Greig.
