Its all Willie Irvines fault

COME ON YOU CLARETS !!
Tomorrow it all starts again Notts forest at home. I have been following the mighty Clarets since I was about four. It was all the fault of a man call Willie Irvine and his late brother Joe. My father was in the army and we were stationed in Berlin (1966, a year that seems to excite my English friends !!) My brother joined a junior team in the camp which was run by a chap called Joe Irvine whose brother Willie had after a spell in amateur Irish football, travelled to England for a trial with Burnley He was offered a professional deal and spent three years playing for the youth and reserve teams, before making his senior debut.. my brother Niall and I became Clarets and have been ever since. We have been through some highs and lows we have followed them all the way down to the bottom, where we nearly got kicked out of the league in the 1986-87 season Burnley went into the last match needing a win against Leyton Orient. A 2-1 win, secured our league status.
2008-2009 saw Clarets' highest league finish since 1976, fifth in the Championship, qualifying the club for the play-offs. Burnley beat Reading 3-0 on aggregate in the semi-final, and went on to beat Sheffield United 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium, promoting Burnley to the Premier League, a return to the top flight after 33 years. Sadly we only stayed a year due in no small terms to our manager (Judas) leaving us for Bolton
Now it all starts again. Roll on 3pm

And its no nay never ....No Nay never no more Till we play the b......s rovers ..No never no more
