Living Statue

on the Royal Mile.

This is Elaine Davidson the world's most pierced woman. I googled her name and there was lots of information on the numbers of external and internal piercings that she has. She also is a nurse and I suppose that if she had piercings on her hands she would have to remove them for infection control purposes.

Spent most of the day walking. First to the West End then a short way along the Water of Leith looking for Gormley statues but not finding any. Later on with the kids from the West End to the Gardens and on to the Royal Mile where a buggy is actually quite handy for getting through the masses. However, it makes watching any performance nearly impossible since it doesn't wriggle very easily between people standing in a circle around a performer. So I only used it as some sort of blip safari and ended up watching this guy who had lots of different soundbites on remote control which he then used to humiliate illustrate some of the passers-by. Funny for a while and the kids for some reason liked it but I left before he ended.

Over the meadows to the Rocket playpark where I met up with my friend and later on listened to her stories of her holidays and what happened next. Nice to catch up. A and S thought it was boring and decided to leave the premises a couple of times in order to sit on the pavement.
