Was It Really So Long Ago

Cable-stayed Bridge

We're homeward bound today, and we managed to catch a photo of the Second Severn Crossing en route. This blip is brought to you at 70 mph on the M25 (I know unbelievable that such speeds are achievable)

The new Crossing was opened on 5 June 1996 by His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. The cable-stayed bridge is used where the span is shorter than a suspension bridge.

I hope you like it!
