New Socks

Woke up this morning to the sound of furious beeping and a back-ache caused by our awful mattress. There's not a lot that can be done about the former, but later on our landlord arranged to take us mattress shopping in a thoroughly entertaining couple of hours in which we heard some great stories about his life in Switzerland, New York, Thailand and Alexandria. He even managed a few snippets concerning Ramadan, the hideous temperature at the moment, London's West End, and the downfall of Cairo before making sure we ended up with a lovely new springy bouncy mattress which should hopefully resolve the back problems which plagued me before the summer.

After a strenuous couple of hours surfing the internet, I had a wee relax on the PS3 getting stuck into the rather excellent Split Second. It's the videogame equivalent of a Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay and Harry Gregson-Williams collaboration. Basically, it's fucking great.

As I was playing though, I couldn't help but admire my new socks.
