Prospero

I know, it might look like another headshot, but this one was actually a little bit more. The previously mentioned Grads production of The Tempest is going to take place on a barge moored by the quayside down by The Shore in Leith. Usually the barge is used to hold meetings and is therefore kitted out with a boardroom table and chairs and a big telly. And has a number of vaguely football-related images in large frames up on the walls. Which probably look okay when you're in there for a meeting but the director decided she wanted to replace them with something more appropriate to the play. So she decided she wanted three large portraits done - one of Prospero and two of Miranda. So I went down there to a dress rehearsal and as well as 'action' shots of the actors we set up the flash in the sort of wheelhouse room on the top deck and took the shots. So this is H as Prospero, and given the staging of the production the brief was to produce a sort of celebrity shot so a bit of post-production was encouraged. Making it a little different from the minimal tinkering that is usually allowed o a headshot. It worked well I think, and did indeed end up on the wall for the two weeks of the show.
