Seal Pups

We arrived in Kaikoura, and booked into our accommodation and then headed up to a creek which enters the sea and these baby seals swim up the creek over rocks and cascades to a swimming pool below a beautiful water fall. It is their nursery. The Parents cannot get up the creek, and while they are away fishing at sea, the pups go exploring and having a great time. When we went to view them there must have been about 30 swimming around in the pool and playing and fighting each other. There were others making there way up the creek, and some sleeping in the bush. It was an amazing experience.
