Albatross

We had an early morning start to be up to catch the sun coming up over the sea at Kaikoura.
Then we went out on a boat to see the sea birds, and we saw many albatross's, petrels, shearwaters, terns, shags, gulls and many more birds. On the way back we also saw the Hector Dolphin swimming alongside the boat, and we were so fortunate to also see a a whale on the surface, and then dive down. We were not out very far, and they are normally a lot further out.
This albatross you will notice that he has pink colouring on the side of his neck.
They all had it, and it is apparently part of their courting session where they rub necks with each other, and they dribble on each other, and the pink is from eating krill.
