S's mum's birthday today (I think she's a thousand years old, but still very sprightly in body and mind) and we're off to The Orchard for a meal and a wee drinkie.
....and, yes, I have yet again bought a crap present but Jean will be lovely about it and say all the right things. One can only do that convincingly after a millenium of experience.
