Plumber needed.

Water, is taught by thirst.

by Emily Dickinson

Water, is taught by thirst.
Land -- by the Oceans passed.
Transport -- by throe
Peace -- by its battles told
Love, by Memorial Mold
Birds, by the Snow.

Hurricane Earl passed by with barely a sneeze, plenty of water from the sky and it kicked up some glorious surf at the local Acadia National Park, Schoodic Penninsula

To continue the water theme, we woke up to a leaking hot water heater, three day holiday weekend. Calls have been made, messages left, hacksaw needed since my brother has the only cellar bulkhead key, padlock needs sawing. Six women, cold showers for some days... The heater is ancient, from the days of my great aunt's life here, and she died at 97 in 1987. The tank has served us well, and so we hope to see the plumber with a new one soon.

To answer stove questions, yes it works, we use it in cold weather since the old heating system is dead. We use the house only 3 seasons, and have a monitor heater that keeps the place at 50 degrees all winter with the pipes drained. This is a cold house on a hill in the snowy winters here.
