Marooned on Shell Island

During the night the winds were gusting at speeds upto 30 mph and the rain was torrential, the people who were camping just below us lost their gazebo and were chasing it up the beach around 3am. High tide this morning was spectacular the waves were pounding up the beach and the water was white and foaming where it was churning up. The causeway was closed, completely impassible but the cars were so impatient that they were queing up waiting to get off. They didn't wait until it was clear as you can see here.

Had a great big breakfast before leaving ourselves and travelled home through the Snowdonia mountain range. The water was gushing down the tributaries. Amazing.

I have posted yesterdays blip here

Hope you've all had a great weekend

**EDIT**
The other side of the island is where the tide was pounding the beach, this side is always calm and like a mill pond
