Catherine Lacey: BoyStory

Denmark: Copenhagen

The weather is back to being glorious today. Welcomed into the port by the band of the guards, we walk, then train it into town and head to the Trivoli Gardens.

Reuben's having a shaky start, first being sick with his reflux then falling over from standing, which he does on occasion with his weak balance. We visit the First Aid who kindly have the boys wear their special hats and before long we're on our way.

This spot marks the happiest part of the day with the boys rolling around on these checkered tables-cum-rollers. I'm glad for the parasol which I buy there as a photo prop.

This taken with a self timer (I get 10 secs), rushing back to the scene, positioning Reuben and pretending I'm relaxing in the sun with a smile. Must get a remote one day. Loving the beer (see table) watching the world go by in this great fun place for the kids, yet once again, limited by the schedule from seeing much else in Copenhagen. An overwhelming memory will be of the huge old fashioned prams being wheeled by well heeled mothers often with two or three wee'uns in there and the vast number of cyclists with babies strapped to the back. Beautiful, forward thinking, city.
