John Cory

Starting a new series of Cardiff blips - statues of Cardiff notaries. This statue of John Cory stands in the parkland opposite the Civic Centre.

John Cory was a shipping magnet in the time of Cardiff's prominence as a coal exporting port. He also became a great benefactor and was a well regarded person in the city of Cardiff at the end of the nineteenth century.
