Living Room with Boxes

This is the living room of the small apartment which we are renting until next spring. Our move began yesterday, but was interrupted until Monday (to our relief). We are being moved by employees of our condo-mate's company, so it's flexible (thank goodness--he is buying us out to expand with his family, and in the spring we will move into an adjacent small house that he is reconstructing).

This apartment has three rooms: The living room, the kitchen through the door (with the bathroom behind), and a bed room out of sight to the right in the rear. As you can see, it will be a bit tight.

We bought the television set just prior to the move, so we could have it properly connected by the technician from our local cable monopoly (along with internet and telephone).

I have to say the internet connection speed is far faster than that which we had previously via DSL through the telephone company. When I asked the technician about the speed relative to DSL he just laughed; when I turned to TV5 Monde (the international French cable channel which we subscribe to, he immediately asked, "Tu parles Francais?" Turned out he was Haitian, and we talked mostly in French after that--a jolly fellow.

I'm about to BACKBLIP entries for the previous two days.
