Alas poor cucumber, I knew him well

What a day.

WHAT A DAY!

After a grumbly baby42 yesterday we thought we might be in for a difficult weekend, with the main highlight being lots of gardening.

Then, this morning, baby42 rolled over (from tummy to back) for the first time ever and she was everso pleased with herself ...

... and then she had her first ever food (she's six months old so we are skipping the purée bit altogether) with us at lunchtime ...

... and then she decided that seeing as she was eating she might as well sit up all by herself!

After all of that we still mowed the lawn, trimmed the hedge, brushed up the leaves, pruned the plum tree, fed the tomatoes and generally tidied up the garden.

And finally she joined us for a spot of dinner before bath and bed. She had* rice, broccoli and pear. We had rice and curry.

All three of us have been grinning all day.

Some alternates for you:

> Cucumber ... not so much!

> Broccoli

> Pear lollypop

> Reaching for the Pear (the reaching with both hands is new too)

> Rice is nice

What a day!

LOTD: Just love Zeitgeist in London's Praise in Picadilly blip - great timing and composition and topical too!

* Well, I say "she had" when actually what I mean is "she picked up, licked/tasted and mashed into her face, her babygrow and the table before dropping onto the floor - not much went into her tummy!"
