Colour Poem - Cusp of Autumn

The Virginia Creeper has reached its full growth. It has attached itself to our back door, hanging down from the eaves creating an awning of green, gold and red beyond the screen door.

After a lazy and late start to the day we went to watch migrating hawks. It was a great day!

In a couple of hours we saw over a hundred different hawks high overhead. We saw:

Red-tailed hawks, adult and first year
- Turkey Vultures
- A bald eagle (well others saw it, not us)
- Sharp-shinned hawks
- Cooper's Hawks
- Kestrels
- Northern Harriers
- Peregrine Falcons

And the highlight - over 20 Broad-winged Hawks circling and rising and drifting slowly towards the west.

Oh, the weekend is ending too soon.

I've back blipped the past two days.

And many, many thanks for the hearts and comments on Thursday's blip.
